Her "Planet Earth" column appeared for three years in Successful Meetings Magazine where she became known globally for her pioneering work in setting environmental guidelines for event planning. She was a sought-after speaker and consultant on that subject and her first book, How to Plan Meetings that Don't Cost the Earth is still used today by environmentally conscious meeting professionals.

Susanne co-created Travel Tracks, an audio guide that presents an orientation to the island of Oahu and its favorite attractions. Produced like a radio show, this audio CD contains engaging interviews, island music and great insider tips on where to go and what to do. It can be customized for incoming meetings and incentives and used as a powerful activator to stimulate early registration and attendance.

Additional Presentations

Sims is a vocalist and a stage performer in the Artesia Amphitheatre troupe. She works alone and in conjunction with partners Robin Stephens Rohr (author of best-selling book Chicken Soup from the Soul of Hawaii, and Powerstones) and strategic visionary designer, Jim Channon. Her additional presentations focus on Creativity and Imagination, and the Myths, Magic and Medicine of Hawaii.

Imagine~Action

Albert Einstein once said, "Imagination is more important than knowledge." Have you ever been taught to use your imagination? There are infinite ways to stimulate the great reservoir of creativity inside each of us and in this presentation, Susanne Sims teams up with Jim Channon, an expert on the imagination and how it works.

Over the last 25 years, visionary strategic designer Jim Channon has been using a set of tools to assemble ideas into blueprints for action. He has designed the visionary strategies of over a dozen of the world's largest corporations. "The drivers of our imagination include invention, discovery, inspiration, engaging the muse, and opening the galleries of the subconscious," says Channon. "Once the brain is stimulated to assemble ideas and models, it can then translate and transform the original set of images into something valuable."

Jim Channon has been described as a one-man Walt Disney studio. He captivates audiences by spontaneously drawing colorful and powerful images on large white boards while on stage, then adds spell-binding stories and legends to the mix. Sims guides people on a journey designed to activate their subconscious mind and creative brain. Together they create music, song and myth along the way.

Myth, Magic and Medicine ~ A Hawaiian Odyssey

A perfect keynote because it provides both a delightful and dynamic orientation to the Hawaiian Islands and a thoughtful measure of island wisdom. Audiences receive an enriching experience that has true application to one's business and personal life.

The story unfolds as two women, (Susanne Sims and Robin Stephens Rohr) each in search of a new life, reminisce about when they first came to Hawaii and the abiding lessons of Aloha they have learned over the years. The themes of navigating change, daring to dream and living a vibrant life are explored in this multi-media extravaganza. Storytelling, Hawaiian music, chant and hula bring their odyssey to life. Large screen images by internationally renowned, award winning photographer Linda Ching create a stunning backdrop. A true honoring of the Hawaiian culture and the power of place.
